Exit Point's passion for the music began in the early 90s, a fan of the Madchester sound of The Stone Roses & Happy Mondays, from here, his musical tastes shifted to the underground Rave sounds of the mid 90's after being introduced to a mixtape by a friend. This led to Exit becoming an avid listener of the local pirate stations, Mix FM, Fresh FM (Leicester) & Kool FM (Birmingham). This keenness further led Exit to take up DJ'ing, initially with a pair of Soundlab belt drives & a Numark mixer. Exit got into the Jungle sound in 1994 and would buy his vinyl from the legendary 5HQ shop in Leicester.

I got into electronic music right after High School. (Honestly truth be told I have always been into it when you include groups like NIN and Gravity Kills, to name a few, but I didn't find dance music until post High School)... I went to my first club in 1999, and saw DJ Monk (co-founder of the group Rabbit in the Moon). And he was just too wicked, mixing records, scratching, adding effects, I watched him and watched him, he never stopped moving, he was always doing something tweaking this, adding that. It was an awesome show to watch and hear. I heard and saw all this and I was hooked. I knew I wanted to spin right away, and I had dreams as high as the sky, imagining seeing the world, and meeting new people, and playing in venues in places I never even knew existed. That never happened, but I'm okay with that, I played some open decks and did a few house parties, but mostly I just did what I did, because I enjoyed doing it. When someone asks me for a hero Monk is still the first name that pops into my mind, he introduced me to one of my biggest passions, all thanks to one night all those years ago. I went out bought a Numark all in one package, not long after I had been consumed by the scene and used it awhile until I realized what crap I had, belt drive tables and mixer with a crossfader that jumped in and out as I was mixing. I eventually replaced all that with the setup I currently have which is a pair of Stanton STR8-100's and a Denon DN-X800, later on; I also purchased a Denon DN-F2600 dual disc CD player, which have recently been replaced with a pair of Stanton c.314's. I use Ortofon Concorde Elektro needles and Denon HD-1000 headphones, and I couldn't be more pleased with my setup. I bought the STR8-100's when they very first came out, and the reason I did was because I had become very attached to the key correction function of the CD player, and I thought it would be awesome to have it on my tables too. Unfortunately the key correction on the model I got never really worked all that well, it creates this funny reverb effect. It is so overpowering it is difficult to tell which beat was the real one, and it makes it hard to mix, so I never use it. However, in my opinion the motors are at very least very comparable to 1200's, so I have never really had the desire to replace them. Except for maybe with one of the new model 150's, only because I hear they finally got the key correction to function properly, the 150’s are supposed to have even more torque, but like I said before, the torque on mine is fine. I don’t scratch so super high torque tables are not a necessity for me, so I will run with my 100’s until they die. All of that is really moot anyway, while I still have my tables and can still use them, I rarely do. Most of the time I use my digital setup, which consists of a Denon MC6000, a pair of Kontrol F1s, Maschine, a Kaoss Pad Quad, and Traktor. I enjoy a very wide range of music, and if you listen to my sets, you'll rarely hear me play an entire set of single genre, most of the time it is three or four different genres. And what I enjoy most with the digital setup, is that I have so much more music at my disposal, and it is a lot more accessible that trying to thumb through a thousand records. My style of mixing has evolved a great deal since switching to digital as well, so much so that I don't enjoy traditional mixing as much anymore either, I use a lot of cue points and loops in my mixes, and you can't do that with vinyl. I suppose you could with Traktor Scratch and set of Dicers, but I don't really see the point considering that that I don’t scratch, nor do I have any real desire to. It doesn't really fit what I do.Life moves quickly, and life had more responsibilities than my teenage dreams allowed for, and I wound up settling down. I got married and had a couple of kids and mixing kind of took a backseat for a few years... …Fast forward to a few years ago, I got my hands on an iPod and started jamming out to my tunes again, because it was all so easily accessible, which in turn made want to mix again, but I still rarely found the time to do it. Until I got my hands on a copy of Virtual DJ, and I got all pumped up. I started recording mixes. I was rejuvenated all over again. Not that I really have aspirations for a worldwide tour anymore, but simple act of blending one track into another was as exciting as it was the first time I did it, and I was having a lot of fun doing it. So, I kept at it, and made some new like minded friends. I got picked up on Gremlin Radio a few months after I started mixing again, and I have been there ever since. I love it; we have a very cool group of people contributing to the station. I've been there since 2011, and don't plan on going anywhere. I was recently made an administrator for the station as well, my main role is to set up their streams when they join the station, but I also look for new DJs to join our ranks amongst other things as well. So if you interested send me a PM, or find me on Facebook or something, just find a way to get me your demo. I'm always scouting for new talent to join our collaborative. Currently we have around 40 DJ’s in the fold, but we are looking to have live DJs 24/7. Anyhow, I can ramble on and on, but in the end we are all here for the same reason, we love music... Take a listen to my sets, and let me know what you think, good or bad. All comments will be greatly appreciated.. Thanks for stopping by and checking me out and I hope you enjoy what you hear... >>> Peace.Love.Unity.Respect <<<

In the late 90's I started Evil Activities and made tracks like "Darkness At Noon", "Harder & Harder", "Way Of Life", "What's Inside Me", "Be Quiet" and many more. i started djing at 16 after months of begging the parents for months to buy me some 1210s,which i still use today going strong.my passion in music has to be old school piano, retro and vocal funky house if you cant sing to it then its no good lol.in the early nineties i started going clubbing, and for me to this day was the best for music.when i first got my 1210s i had no intension of djing in clubs it was just a hobby for and for my own enjoyment.i was actually tricked by a fellow dj and good friend who was already djing in clubs, when he phoned me up one thurday night and said he was ill and needed me to help him out and play at a bar for him,to which i found out later it was actually a dj competition to which he entered me and to my surprise i won to which the prize was residency at bradfords biggest dance club which pulled 700 to 800 in every friday and saturday night,my first night djing in the club was christmas eve which was packed out and i was shitting it,it was a big difference mixing some tracks in the bedroom and then to bid audience but i absolutely loved it and was hooked, and so my djing career was born. within the first year things went from strength to strength playing in numerous clubs all over yorkshire and holding down residencys and playing alongside some of the biggest names in the country (alister whitehead,k klass, paul taylor just to name a few) i was more known as a dj for my old school sets and so i was made a resident for retro which took me to ibiza djing at eden and loved every minute. in the mid 2000s i began working with a fellow dj (adam g) at a place called bar me which was just a bar not a club, but in the first 6 months playing there the profits soared 700% and went from a free bar and having to pay in on the door,so we sat down and thought were on to a winner here and decided to brand our own night and event, and so worship was born. our brand of night went from strength to strength holding down rooms at space, gatecrasher, visage and ethios, garlands and many more,we even ended up with our own radio show on a friday night on dvm radio (dance vinyll masters). i think the reason our night worked so well was because we didnt brand it as one style of music it was straight across the board,if it was a classic then it got played. in 2008 we decided to pull the brand as we both wanted to persue over interests,i decided to take a break from djing as it got to a stage where i stopped enjoying it and felt more of a chore going to work instead of doing something i loved. so now im back, loving my music more then ever and back on the scene :-)

I bought my 1st set of decks in 93..and still have em! :) DJ'd at friends partys and once at BAR PERU bolton waaay bk in 96.... Frequented many of the great clubs in the 90's starting with PLEASUREDROME in farnworth then WIGAN PIER & MAXIMES in wigan, followed LIFE to the mighty BOWLERS,aswell as KINETIC,SHELLYS, and some mint allnighters VISION 93. Put out my raving shoes to pasture in 96,when in my opinion..it all went down hill and lost the 'VIBE' :( The revival of the 'oldskool scene' has got me back into the music that i sadly lost contact with for a few yrs, aswell as breakbeat and nu-rave. Slowly getting into buying vinyl again after a 2-3yr gap of only playing mp3's and loving the challenge. My mixes aint perfect...but hope you enjoy them all the same. My set up- TECHNICS 1200'S BEHRINGER DJX700 mixer. Old and new mixes will be posted as i have loads on soundcloud,mediafire,4shared yaada yaada..all comments welcome, good n bad lol thanks :)
